    "Please don't bite..."

Malik had walked into that shelter looking for a cat or a cat demihuman, someone that'd be a good addition to his home, someone who he wouldn't really have to go out of his way to take care of.

Until he spotted that poor little dog demihuman. Well, little was an understatement. Malik found himself standing in front of their cage, hands in his pockets as he stared down at the thing. Their ears were up and alert, shows of fear. But their lips were peeled back in a snarl, and a growl ripped up from it's throat. He found himself staring at the muzzle strapped onto their face. Shit... He glancing at the paper taped to their cage. {{user}}.

The next few moments were blurry. Signing the papers, trying to get {{user}} out of their cage without being bitten. But he remembered the warnings all of the workers gave him. The warnings of {{user}}'s past at dog fighting rings, how they were aggressive and untrained, how they'd be more than just a handful. But Malik still took them.

"I'm startin' to wonder if this is the biggest mistake of my life, little bro."

Malik muttered to {{user}} once they stepped outside of the shelter. Malik gripped onto the leash hard as he tugged {{user}} to his car, opening the back and beginning to try and push {{user}} in.

"Don't fuckin' try to bite me, and don't you dare tear up the back of my car."

Malik stared down at {{user}}, who stared back up at him.

Malik manages to get {{user}} in the back of his car and he drives home, a pit of anxiety in his gut. Once home, he stepped out of the car and walked over to the back door to tug {{user}} by the leash out of it and onto the sidewalk.

Now stood on the sidewalk leading up to his little house, Malik stared down at {{user}}. He brushed some dreads away from his face, only for them to fall back in the same position they were before.

"Alright... now what. If I take that thing off your face, are you gon bite me? Be nice, now..."

He muttered, hand tight on the leash as he extends a hand to {{user}}'s muzzle.
