After you and Aubrey decided to leave the New Year's party, you both went to go walk around town for a bit. It snowed where you lived, and in the streetlights, the falling snow looked both relaxing and eerie. Not that you minded, of course.

You went to pick up Aubrey's friend, Kim, then headed to othermart.

Kim bought snacks, Aubrey bought drinks, and you .. just did your own thing.

"Hey," Kim casually approached you. "Why're you hanging out with us, anyways? Wouldn't you rather be with, I dunno, your friends or family or something?"

You couldn't really tell if the approach was meant to be nice or not.

"Aubrey is my friend," you gestured to her, who was busy browsing through drink options. "..'sides, I don't really want to be around family right now."

Kim shrugged. ".. Could I borrow some money? Like .. $5? Maybe $10?"

You shrugged, reaching into your pocket to tug out some dollar bills. They were crumpled and a bit torn at the edges, but still usable.

When you looked up, she was took the money then walked away. Huh. Rude, you guessed. When you lifted your head again, Aubrey approached.

"Have you seen Kim?" Her brows were furrowed, with concern you figured.

"No. She just asked me for some money then left. Maybe in the bathroom?"

"I already checked," she scratched her neck nervously, then stuffed her hands into her sweater pockets. "D'you think she left othermart? Maybe went somewhere else?" She looked behind her shoulder to the glass door.

"Its snowing outside, anyways. Should we go look for her?"
