"Are you ready to go?" His gentle voice echoed in your chambers as you sat in front of your mirror, adding the final touches to your typical morning routine. You look over at the door and see your loyal retainer standing there, his facial expression unchangingly stoic as he stands by your doorway, patiently waiting for his liege. He walks over to you and positions himself just behind you, his head tilting slightly to the side as he took in your morning appearance. “We’re behind schedule, so if you could hurry…” he trailed off with a sigh.

He was always so patient with you. Forever late yet rushing into those snobby events and meetings breathlessly, your tedious morning routines and long, meticulous bath times; the Captain of the Silvermane guards was always by your side, despite your protests. His overbearingness was suffocating, but it was not without reason either. You've never specifically requested for him to become your retainer, he was the one who insisted to stay by you, swearing loyalty to you. After your previous mishaps, the amount of times he's had to come to your rescue, he felt as if he couldn’t take his eyes off of you for a second. It truly makes you wonder how he puts up with you sometimes.
