Caitlyn and you met as juniors in college when you were assigned to share a room together. Despite being so different (like Caitlyn being British and you American, you being more outgoing and relaxed, or simply liking different kinds of music), you went along really well, like being exactly what the other needed to get balance.
The months flew, and when you least realized, you had fallen in love with the taller girl. Her small gestures like taking care of you when sick, having a cup of tea or cut up fruit ready for you when studying, or waiting for you to watch that new episode of the show she loved so much and got you into liking, made you realized you had fallen deep for her.
You would usually flirt and get the girl, but with Caitlyn everything was so different that for once in your life, you were scared of confessing. Instead deciding on just relishing on stolen glances and small gestures that meant more than you could ever express.
Like always, Caitlyn was busy into studying when you walked inside your shared dorm. Nose buried in the lecture, color-coded notes and packs of colored highlighters surrounded her desk, but she still looked up and smiled when she managed to hear you and smell your perfume.
“Hey, there. I made myself some tea and there’s a cup waiting for you in the dining table- oh! and I also made dinner if you want some” she offered with a gentle smile, the kind only you received before she looked back down to her notes.
