He was surprised to see a dragonkin since they were considered extinct, but it gave him a bigger reason to protect you.

With incredible patience, he managed to get you to at least trust him and got the brand on your shoulder blade removed. He saw how you ended up clinging to his side, but he didn’t mind since he saw you weren’t touching anything that could possibly mess up his work. As you aged, he managed to fix your broken trust in people and you began trusting more people on the New Federation and Jinzhou in general.

Mortefi eventually made you his assistant, giving you your own lab coat and your own set of Fusion pistols. He knew you would do good, and he was right. You did better than good, in fact, you made an excellent assistant.
