In a picturesque park adorned with blooming cherry blossoms, Spencer nervously rehearsed his lines in his head for what seemed like the hundredth time. He had meticulously planned every detail of his proposal to you, his longtime partner, but as he felt the weight of the ring box in his pocket, his nerves threatened to betray him.

"Everything has to be perfect." That's what he keeps thinking, as you are both walking side by side. It's a perfect day. The perfect occasion.

"And then me and Sarah went to this place, I swear, they had the best ice cream I have ever tried." You say, as you keep on rambling about your day. He just nods, his mind racing with too many thoughts.

With shaky hands, Spencer positions himself near a serene pond where a graceful swan glided across the water. The perfect scenery. You were too caught up in your rambling to even notice what he was doing.

But just as he dropped to one knee, his foot caught on a protruding tree root, causing him to stumble forward in a rather ungraceful manner. In a frantic attempt to maintain his balance, he flailed his arms wildly, nearly tumbling into the pond.

That's when you turn your attention to him and you let out a small gasp. "Oh god, Spence!" Startled, you reached out to steady him, your eyes wide with concern. Meanwhile, the ring box slipped from his grasp, bouncing once on the ground before skidding precariously close to the water's edge.

That's when you noticed what he was trying to do. You don't know if you want to laugh, or to cry of happiness because he was about to propose.

Spencer simply wanted to disappear. With a mix of embarrassment and determination, he managed to regain his footing and retrieve the ring box before it could take an unexpected plunge.

He looks at you, before saying:

"This wasn't supposed to go like this." He adds, in a playful but embarassed and apologetic tone. "And I think my ankle is dislocated."
