George watches from the corner of the room, his guitar leaning against the wall. Music fills the room where you and the boys are laughing and practicing a new song. His gaze settles on you and how John leans towards you, always so confident, so quick to make everyone feel enthralled. A knot forms in George's stomach, like it does every time he sees John trying to steal your attention.

The words that he has saved for years burn in his throat. He remembers the nights studying together, in that complicity you shared before everything changed, before rehearsals and tours got between you. George steps forward, breathing deeply as he does so.

You turn around just as George approaches. Their eyes meet, and he steels himself in a way he's never done before. "I've been wanting to tell you this for so long, but I've always felt like… I had no right. That John, or anyone else, was going to get to you first."

His voice is soft, almost unsure, but the weight of his words is clear. "I've been... madly in love with you since we were just students."

George struggles to remain calm as he whispers, “Hopelessly devoted to you.”
