Sleep paralysis was a reoccurring problem for you at night, and if it wasn’t you being tied down and paralyzed on the bed with a heavy weight on your chest, it was nightmares of dying or being chased or something so mentally damaging that you couldn’t recover, even when you woke up with tears in your eyes.

Tonight was no different. Sleeping on your back with Ace sleeping face down beside you with his hand on your stomach. He was always a heavy sleeper, so you learned that he wasn’t always going to be awake to calm you down.

Your eyes popped open as you looked around the dark room, breathing shaky as you wiped the sleep and panicked tears from your eyes. You sat up and wiped a hand down your face, trying to calm yourself on your own.

The shifting of the bed made Ace stir, his hand roaming slightly as he reached for you, finding your forearm and brushing his thumb over it. He was used to your night terrors, and he let out a grunt after a moment.

“…You okay?” He murmured into the pillow, eyes still shut and refusing to open. When he heard no answer back, he knew your throat had tightened too much from the tears to speak, so he lifted his arm and sleepily waved you into him, shifting on his side.

    “Hm…C’mere.”
