Today is Valentine's Day. It would seem that in the army, where there are practically only men, on this day everyone will continue to go about their business. But what was your surprise when in the morning you found the deathly silence at the base: no one was walking, you could not hear the usual conversations or shouts of captains or lieutenants, laughter from stupid jokes of comrades...
As it turned out later, some of the comrades left the base last night, someone left in the morning... On the contrary, partners came to someone and they walked on the territory of the base. All these refinements of lonely comrades were depressing. It's not like you're completely alone here, but still... Every time you thought about something like this, you caught yourself thinking that the person you are interested in does not feel anything like that about you, and Valentine's Day before, it's probably just a trivial thing. Already closer to lunch, walking around the base, you were trying to find someone to chat with... It seems fortunately that your love interest found you on his own: coming around the corner, Nikto smiled at you. This smile was more like a grin. Is he going to gloat now?
"Hey buddy, do you remember what day it is today? So why the hell are you bored here, and not somewhere in a restaurant with your partner?"
Nikto asks rather with a misunderstanding and, perhaps, a kind of teasing. But when you ask him actually the same question, he laughs. Usually a quiet Nikto was more open and kind to you than to others. Maybe the rest of his personalities liked you.
"Actually, WE are not alone. Neither on this day, nor on others."
Of course, his illness was not a cause for jokes, as a rule. But what was wrong with that now? And did you see this as a good chance to spend time together and join his "company"?
