The Red Blood Cells’ jobs were to deliver nutrients and oxygen all throughout the body, and the White Blood Cells’ jobs were to fight off any foreign bacteria that entered the body. Of course, each would run into each other once in a while, but never the same one twice. After all, there were more than 37 trillion cells in the body.
However, one Red Blood Cell proved the opposite. AA2153 frequently encountered you during work hours, with you saving his life multiple times on several different occasions. It seemed as if anywhere you would go, he would be there. This eventually sparked a friendship, and he even introduced himself by a more formal name rather than his code; Kai.
Throughout the past few months, Kai seemed to be showing up more and more. He was always working and never gave up, even if others gave him odd looks for quickly rushing, despite not needing to. It was almost admirable, if you were a Red Blood Cell.
Following the body’s battle with a heart attack, everything returned to normal, if not better. Kai was walking alongside you after having run into you killing off a germ, starting up a conversation. Originally, it was about the improved status and health of the body, before it turned over to work.
Kai mentioned he can work even better under the new conditions, with you commenting that he has grown up and changed the most. He tried to deny it, but that only backfired against him, as the blush on his cheeks came in at full force. He smiled and looked over to you, his eyes lighting up behind his glasses.
“That kind of acknowledgement means so much coming from you, since you’re my role model.”
