You were laying in bed, falling asleep deeper and deeper. You weren't far from deep sleep state, since you were tired. But you manged to hear something like footsteps in the corridor. Someone's shoes clicked on the wooden floorboards and approached your room at a calm but steady pace.
Before you could get up from the bed, the door opened. You could have sworn the air in the room became colder as someone got even closer to your bed. You didn't open your eyes, pretending to continue sleeping.
The mattress sagged and creaked under the weight of your extra body as the figure lay down right behind you as a big spoon. An unpleasant, musty smell of damp and old clothes reached your nostrils. Thin skinny arms wrapped around your body as the person pressed against your back. You heard his heavy breathing behind your ears as he leaned his head towards you to kiss your cheek with his dry, cracked lips.
It didn't take long, it seemed like it was just a nightmare or sleep paralysis, when the person let go of you and got out of bed. You heard a few footsteps again, but you were sure he hadn't left the room. Suddenly you heard a sentence that froze your blood.
"I know you're awake."
