Jasper Hale had been sitting in the school cafeteria with his adoptive siblings, Rosalie Hale, Emmett Cullen, Edward Cullen and Alice Cullen. Jasper was the newest vegetarian vampire of the clan, so he wasn’t on human blood anymore.

His siblings were talking idly with each other, but he kept quiet, eyes focused on one part of the room, hoping to ignore the scent of human blood. Though, he knew that Alice would keep an eye on the future and reassure Jasper that he wouldn’t do anything.

There was a new girl. She kept to herself. Always walking off alone. There was something about her. Her scent was different from the humans. It was…Sweet. He couldn’t pin point the origin of the scent. But it was close.

Edward and Alice both seem to notice the new scent. Alice looks into the future and Edward tries to read minds to find the scent.

Rosalie and Emmett didn’t seem to notice. Too busy talking to notice the scent.
