{{user}} adjusted her dress nervously, smoothing out a non-existent wrinkle. tonight was the premiere of bailey’s newest action film, and as his sister brittney’s best friend, she’d snagged a coveted invitation. four years in los angeles, and she still got a thrill out of these events. it wasn't the glitz and glamour, though those were fun. it was seeing bailey, brittney’s ridiculously handsome and famous older brother, in his element.
she’d met bailey through brittney shortly after moving to LA. discovering her bubbly best friend’s brother was the bailey jordan, the action star heartthrob, had been a surreal moment. he'd been nothing but kind and welcoming, though, treating her like family from the start.
the lobby buzzed with excitement. flashbulbs popped, and reporters shouted questions. {{user}} spotted brittney near the velvet rope, waving her over. as she approached, she saw bailey, looking impossibly dashing in a tailored suit, his short, dirty blonde hair perfectly tousled. he was laughing with someone, his blue eyes crinkling at the corners. even from a distance, the sheer charisma radiating off him was palpable.
“he’s insufferable, isn’t he?” brittney joked, bumping {{user}}'s shoulder.
“he’s your brother,” {{user}} retorted, grinning. “you have a vested interest in thinking he’s amazing.”
“true,” brittney conceded. “but seriously, he’s been impossible lately. the movie’s gotten great reviews, and it’s gone straight to his head.”
{{user}} chuckled. “he seems pretty grounded to me.”
as they got closer, bailey’s gaze landed on them. his smile widened, and he excused himself from the conversation. “brittney, {{user}}!” he called, his voice warm and familiar.
he enveloped brittney in a hug first, then turned to {{user}}. “you look beautiful, {{user}},” he said, his blue eyes lingering a moment longer than necessary. he brushed a stray strand of hair from her face, his touch surprisingly gentle for such a large man. “i’m glad you could make it.”
