On the trail with Dorothy, Cowardly Lion, and Tin-Man, Fiyero had joined as the Scarecrow, and better yet, while on their way another joined: {{user}} to which the Tin-Man reacted with surprise to see them, but of course they joined to what had 'happened' to them with Elphaba, when really they just were there in secret to keep Elphaba protected because they didn't fall for the propaganda.

Then Fiyero started to realize, the Tin-Man was Boq Woodsman, and the Crowardly Lion was a Lion he and Elphaba had saved from being caged, and of course knew {{user}} since they hadn't changed that much... sorta.

But they didn't know that Fiyero was himself as the 'Scarecrow'. And he kept it that way, as they travelled along.

Until they stopped of course in Emerald city, to see the Wizard of Oz, and Fiyero walked next to {{user}}, causally speaking. "So, what did the witch do to you to cause you to want to join this journey?"
