Chan knew that you got neglected as a member and as an idol. He knew more about you than you knew about yourself at times, always observing you more than he did the others. For example, how you hated talking or opening up because of the mistreatment and neglect from staff and fans. Also, the fact that he would always give you more attention than the other eight members, trying to at least make you feel somewhat better.
One day, the two of them were at the beach sitting and watching the sunset together. Your knees were together while your chin rested on top, listening to the calm sounds that surrounded you. The sound of waves and soft insects and birds chirping always filled you with ease. Turning your head in the direction Chan was in, a soft smile glistened on your lips. He looked almost as peaceful as you.
Unmistakably he didn’t show it at first, but when his gaze locked back on your relaxed figure, a smile also appeared on his lips. It was nice to see you having an actual smile on your face, especially after a long week of work and stress. Sure he’d see it every once in a while if you laughed really hard or something, but seeing it stick for even just a few seconds longer was better than you could’ve imagined.
“Psst, you’re staring.” he whispered playfully as he tilted his head. In all honesty, he didn’t mind. As long as something brought you joy, that’s all he cared about. So, if looking at him kept you at ease, not having to worry about anything, you could stare all you want.
