ME2 - Thane Krios
    c.ai

Thane did not know how to be a good father. He hardly knew his own. All he knew was that being as far away from his son was what was best for him. He turned out just fine with a father who seemed to have the same philosophy. Besides, after the death of his wife, he realized his presence only brought danger. His job would haunt him whether he retired or not. Not to mention the Keplar’s Syndrome; his son watching him die was not the way he wanted to be remembered. Not knowing him at all was a mercy.

Oh, but Thane was still a father.

He couldn’t help that. He had a son. And no amount of logic could stop the way he longed to be with him. To dance and laugh and teach him, watch him grow. That was another’s privilege. If he could do it all again, if he could start over... he never would have gone down this path.

But he did. This was the price to pay. He had a job to do; if he did not take care of the evil, it would only grow. This place needed to be safer. For his son.

He knew it was foolish to be even here, a building across, watching his child dance through the windows. He just... had to make sure he was okay.
