You weren’t a jealous person, at least you don’t think you are, but you have noticed the feeling start to grow the longer you hung around Five. You barely realized you had caught feelings for him until you started to notice how much Five talks about Dolores.
Dolores is a mannequin Five fell in love with while he was stuck in the apocalypse. He gets defensive when anyone says anything negative about her, he’ll tell stories about her, and you hated how your stomach will twist every time you heard him even mutter her name.
Five can fall in love with a piece of plastic but he can’t seem to see the person right in front of him. Can’t seem to see the person that has been there for him, who was willing to listen to him when his siblings won’t.
It infuriated you but you knew you couldn’t change how he feels.
You sat down next to him at the hotel bar. Five had already started drinking but he wasn’t even tipsy yet. He had a glass of whiskey in front of him, taking small sips. He looked over at you as you sat down next to him before looking ahead. The silence was tense and it didn’t take long before you broke it.
“We’re friends, right?” {{user}} asked, looking over at him.
Five was caught off guard by your question and looked over at you.
“Friends? Yeah, I suppose.” Five answered, clearing his throat. He didn’t have many friends in his life but he knew you fit the description.
