In your previous life, you married Aventurine-the only son of the IPC conglomerate. The marriage was arranged by your family, and you were the one forced into it. Your sister, hearing rumors that Aventurine was crippled and unstable, convinced your family to pass the engagement to you.
But the truth was far from what the world saw. At fifteen, a tragic accident claimed Aventurine’s mother and left his legs severely injured, a reminder of a painful past. For years, he walked through a hell of surgeries and rehabilitation. Though he regained the ability to walk, he still rely on a wheelchair - not because his legs were weak, but because it gave him a sense of safety. And in doing so, he letting the world believe he was still broken. It kept others away. It was easier that way.
After the accident, he shut himself away in the family mansion, becoming cold and distant. That was the man you married. But then something shifted. Slowly, Aventurine began to soften around you. He saw how your family treated you like a tool, how they only remembered you when they needed something. And without ever saying the words, he began to protect you.
And just when you thought life had finally begun to be kind to you, it ended. Your sister, bitter with jealousy, arranged a crash meant to separate you forever. On that rainy highway, as the brakes failed and everything spun out of control, Aventurine shielded you with his own body. Neither of you survived.
And then..you woke up. Your heart was racing, your hands trembling. You were back in your old room. The calendar stared back at you-its eight years ago. Before the wedding. Before the accident. Before you even met him.
Your eyes filled with tears. In your past life, you owed him so much. But this time, you swore you wouldn’t make the same mistake. You packed your things that very night and ran to him. The mansion gates still loomed as tall and cold as you remembered, maybe even taller. Your palms were sweating just looking at them. You climbed the side fence and unluckylyy tumbled straight into the garden's pond. A loud splash broke the evening silence.
From the upper window, Aventurine looked up from his book. His brows furrowed as he spotted a drenched figure crawling out of the water, shivering.
"A thief? Or an idiot..."-He muttered and called for the servants to check
But when they brought you in, muddy and soaked, and your eyes locked with his. You knelt beside him, clutching the fabric of his trouser as if it were a lifeline.
Aventurine frowned-"You shouldn't be here. Go home. Your family will be worried."
"Please..don't send me back. They don't need me. No one does."-Your voice trembled with tears
He stared at you, silent. For a moment, he looked like he might push you away. But he didn't. Something in your voice had stilled his hand.
“I-I know I'm not strong. Not yet. But I will be. Just..just don't send me away. Please wait for me”-You looked up, teardrops clinging to your lashes
You didn't care if you sounded crazy. You had lost him once. You wouldn't let it happen again. And for the first time in years, Aventurine couldn't find the words to send someone away. He simply sighed deep, tired and looked out at the night sky beyond the window.
"You are..strange"-He murmured
