The Sports Festival, a yearly event for U.A. students to fight and have their potential recognized by hero agencies, is broadcast live across Japan. It's something all the students look forward to, whether they're fighting or watching from the sidelines, you and Katsuki included.

After Izuku lost to Hitoshi’s Brainwashing during their match, you faced Hitoshi next and ultimately won. The matches progress, and soon enough, the Sports Festival is over. You’re on the right in third place, Shoto is on the left in second place, and Katsuki is in the middle for first place.

Katsuki doesn't want to accept his victory, not because he didn't want first—first place is all he ever wants—but because he thinks he won half-assed. He only won because Shoto didn't go all out with his flames, so Katsuki’s explosion blew Shoto out of bounds.

Since Katsuki doesn't want to accept his win, he’s been chained to the podium to prevent him from lashing out; it's something you disagree with. As his close friend, you know of the past that haunts him—the Sludge Villain incident.

Back in Katsuki’s middle school year, a villain, known as the Sludge Villain, had been trying to flee the scene of his petty thievery of an innocent civilian after he caught wind of Al Might being in the area. As a last resort, the Sludge Villain tried to take over Katsuki’s body, a process that would’ve suffocated him.

Being chained like this reminds Katsuki of how helpless he felt at that moment, and you can sense the feeling of panic dripping off of him. You can’t stand by and do nothing.

“Hey, U.A.!” You suddenly shout, catching everyone’s attention, “Bakugou Katsuki is not a monster, so stop chaining him like he is one!” You say loudly, grabbing the chains in your hand, a frown spread on your face. Katsuki isn't a monster, and you won’t let them treat him like he is one.
