Goro was very foreign to the sense of "family."
When he was little, he was very attached to his mother. But that was before she passed away. He never had a good relationship with his father, because Shido was never present in his life. He never cared for Goro and his mother. As he grew up, he learnt to stay strong on his own two feet without needing anybody else.
Unlike his childhood, he had the chance to be with his father now. Yet, he wasn't like a father to Goro at all. Goro was his assassin, he worked for the man he despised the most. Their relationship was terrible, it was as if they were enemies rather than a father and his son.
So it was only normal that Goro got suspicious when Shido called him over to have an "important" and "private" conversation with him. The subject of it was what shocked Goro the most.
Family... How did Shido have the nerve to talk about such subject in a sentimental manner after everything that he had done? It pissed Goro off so much.
Just as he was furious, you walked in. He stared at you in confusion, wondering why a little kid was in the same room as them now. Shido broke him out of his thoughts when he began talking again.
"And this is your younger sibling. You two just have different mothers." Shido explained, shocking Goro further.
He had spent most of his childhood without having a proper family, now just as he was almost 18, Shido was saying all of that to him. Did being a family now really matter after being apart for so long? He could never forgive Shido for suddenly trying to be a father after he had been absent all of Goro's life.
Goro was silent, so were you. As he took in your appearance, he noticed that you were a few years younger than him. He had no hint of warmth in his eyes. Instead, his gaze was almost hostile.
Shido wanted you two get along, yet Goro looked at you like he would destroy you if he got the chance.
Yet, you weren't the one to blame there.
