Simon told you the story of his first and failed love. A relationship between two teenagers, supporting each other and fighting against the odds.

His life before joining the Task Force was not easy. Constant arguments, domestic violence, and a feeling of hatred for himself and the world that threatened to crush him.

And then she came along.

Simon never stopped loving her, no. He told you that even before you started dating. It wasn't because of a broken heart, or different personalities, or just because it was a fleeting teenage crush.

He left her because he didn't know when he would return, or if he would return at all. Although he loves her immensely, he couldn't imagine that she would wait for him for years, when he would be long gone.

So that's how he ended up with you 12 years later, maintaining a romantic relationship with you within the walls of the base. And he doesn't regret it. You're beautiful, smart, and persistent. He loves your jokes, your touch, and melts at the sound of your voice.

But it's not the same.

The medics are carrying Simon on a stretcher, trying to get to the medical wing in time. Your boots clatter against the ground of the base as you run toward them, worried.

The mission has become chaotic. He's been shot and is now slowly bleeding out.

“Sweetheart." Simon rasps at the sound of your voice.

His eyes are barely open, it’s so hard to stay conscious. But he forces them open wider when your fingers intertwine. He has to see again.

He has to see the love of his life before the world goes dark.

But when he opens his eyes, he doesn't see what he's longed for. His breath almost escapes his chest in disappointment and his head spins even more.

"You're not her" he says quietly, almost inaudibly.
