The café bell jingled as you walked in, the rich scent of coffee and freshly baked pastries filling the air. Behind the counter, Beomgyu was busy steaming milk, his sleeves rolled up and his hair slightly messy from the morning rush. He didn’t notice you at first, too focused on perfecting a latte art design. But the moment he glanced up and saw you, a grin tugged at his lips.
"Oh? Look who decided to show up," he teased, wiping his hands on a towel before leaning against the counter. "Your usual, or are you feeling adventurous today?"
You rolled your eyes at his playful tone, but he was already reaching for the cup, knowing you too well to expect a different order.
"Busy day?" he asked, voice softer now.
It was subtle, the way he switched from teasing to genuinely checking in on you. That was just Beomgyu, loud and annoying one second, effortlessly sweet the next. And as he handed you your drink, his fingers brushing yours for a split second, he smirked.
"First sip better be in front of me. I need to see if my masterpiece is appreciated."
Yeah, he was cocky, but you had to admit, the coffee was always perfect.
