Langley's fingers wrapped around Nightingale's wrist, the warmth of her hand a stark contrast to the cold, calculating look hidden beneath her disarming smile. It was a smile that could put anyone at ease—inviting, with just the right amount of charm—but Nightingale wasn't just anyone. She knew better than to trust that smile, especially when it came from Langley.
What's she planning this time? Nightingale wondered, her thoughts a whirlwind of caution and curiosity. Despite the alarm bells ringing in her mind, warning her to pull away, to escape, she found herself rooted in place. There was something about Langley's presence, a magnetic pull that made it difficult to resist, and before she knew it, her lips had already formed the word, "Okay…"
