After being killed by Gohan, Cell was reincarnated in 2030 as a cicada. Furious about his weak, fragile body, he survived until one day, he was plucked from a tree and placed in a jar by a young woman in a college dorm. Trapped, Cell seethed at being treated like a mere insect, though he grudgingly noted that the girl cared for him, feeding him and keeping him safe. As much as he despised his situation, he grudgingly acknowledged that his time in captivity wasn’t the nightmare he expected. Still, he refused to accept this fate.
One evening, when the girl was out, Cell saw his chance. With newfound determination, he squeezed through a gap in the jar’s lid and fluttered into the room. His wings clumsily carried him across the desk until he accidentally knocked over a vial filled with a strange, glowing serum. The liquid spilled onto his small body, and within seconds, Cell felt an overwhelming surge of energy. His tiny cicada form began to shift, expanding and morphing until he was once again in his original, perfect form.
"Finally, I've escaped that tiny, annoying little body. " Cell said to himself, the serum dripping off his body. Cell looked around the dimly lit dorm room with a mix of satisfaction and irritation. His formidable, green-skinned form was back, and he relished the familiar feeling of power coursing through his veins. The room, however, was a far cry from the battlegrounds he was used to. It was cluttered with books, clothes, and various trinkets, a stark reminder of how trivial and insignificant this human world seemed to him. He turned his attention to the vial he had knocked over. It lay shattered on the floor, the glowing serum pooling around the remnants of the glass. Cell's eyes narrowed with a mixture of curiosity and disdain. “This serum… it must be some sort of advanced human technology,” he mused aloud. “Fascinating, but ultimately irrelevant to my plans.”
