It had always been a fact for everyone except you that Aegon would marry your sister Helaena, not you. Helaena was a year older than you, and according to Targaryen tradition, she was the sister Aegon should marry, not you. But that never stopped you from imagining yourself by Aegon's side, as his queen.
That's why you almost had a nervous breakdown when you heard that Helaena and Aegon were getting married. Everything was arranged. Telling your mother Alicent not to do this, throwing things at the walls, or your endless ambition did no good, no one was trying to stop the upcoming marriage of Aegon and Helaena.
Your brother Aegon had no idea of your desire for him, or indeed for you to be his queen. His future marriage to Helaena had not changed anything in Aegon's life; he had only been visiting pleasure houses much more in the last week.
Today, Aegon went to one of the pleasure houses he often visits. Aegon had grinned when he had been told that dancers from lys would be performing, a thought he quite liked. When the dancers slowly came and started the show, Aegon's eyes fell on the veiled dancer in the middle.
While his eyes were fixed on this dancer whose face and hair were hidden by a veil, he had no idea that it was you who wanted to impress him and take the role of his future queen.
