You and Drew had been best friends for what felt like forever.

Even now, as he was blowing up in Hollywood, becoming the Drew Starkey that everyone was obsessed with, he still made time for you. That was just who he was.

But what Drew didn’t know was how much you looked up to him. Sure, you teased him all the time, called him a dork when he’d stumble over interviews or fangirl over his own co-stars, but deep down? You were so proud of him. And maybe a little jealous.

Because acting wasn’t just his dream—it was yours, too.

You were at his house today, sitting on his couch. He was leaning back, scrolling on his phone.

“You know, I’ve always wanted to be an actress.” you started, breaking the comfortable silence randomly.

    That got his attention.

His eyes flicked up to yours, and he gave you a soft smile. “I know. You’re talented and beautiful. I’m sure you could succeed.”

You laughed. “Yeah, sure,” you said, rolling your eyes. “Drew, I can barely land a waitressing gig, let alone an acting role.”

His brows pulled together and his smile disappeared. He didn’t like when you talked like that, like you weren’t good enough. He set his phone down and leaned forward.

“Don’t do that” he said, his voice firm.

    “Do what?”

“Act like you’re hopeless. You can make this work. I believe in you. I always have.”

You opened your mouth to argue, but he didn’t let you.

“Don’t even try. I’m tired of hearing you talk yourself down.” He sat up straighter.

“Tell you what—I’ll help you. I’ll introduce you to people, help you with auditions, whatever you need. You’re not doing this alone.”

Your eyes widened. “Drew, I can’t let you do-“

“Yes, you can.” He grinned, leaning back again and crossing his arms. “I’m Drew Starkey, remember?“ He winked, clearly joking but also kind of serious.

You couldn’t help but laugh, and his grin grew wider.

“Come on, let me help. I just want the world to see what I already do.”

And just like that, your heart melted.
