It was all rainbows and cupcakes, until it wasn’t anymore.
Dates had turned into fights, cuddling had turned into fights, leaving you to find her asleep on the sofa. It seemed like that no matter what you did, it would end up with the both of you disagreeing on something.
One night, on the drive home from a date that you had got all dolled up for, it just got worse. It just progressed and progressed until it couldn’t anymore. Intentionally, you had planned this date to try to talk with her about everything. To try and put the puzzle pieces back together in the puzzle you built together.
After a while of back and forth between the both of you, her face was scrunched up, trying to hold back what she was about to say.
“Say it.” You whisper, not expecting what she was about to say. Not realizing it would switch the whole night.
“Fine! Then let’s break up!” She blurts out, turning the car into a gas station parking lot and getting out. You sit there in the passenger seat, the rain droplets falling down against the car window. Immediately, you get out as well, looking over at her.
The rain poured down, messing up your hair as you pleaded to her. Pleading if you could just talk. Yet, she wasn’t having it. A single tear ran down your cheek, slightly messing up your mascara.
Vi stays quiet, her back turned so that you couldn’t see her own tears starting to well up and fall.
“I’m sorry..” She grabs the hood of her hoodie and walks off. Leaving you just.. there.
