The mirror image of the crescent moon gets disturbed by rippling water. As Kaien sits by the pond, one leg propped up and an arm leisurely resting on his knee, he gently scatters some fish food. The koi fish reflect the silverish light of the stars on their lightly patterned scales, their greedy little mouths ascending from beneath the surface in hopes of catching more pellets.

It's quiet, except for the soft pattering of their eager fins. The wind is but a kind breeze, merely brushing through the leaves and the lieutenant's raven black hair while he enjoys the serene moment. The scent of the pond, its surrounding nature, the algae in the water... it's unlike the sea, and yet like a distant relative, all the same.
