Negan Smith (pronounced /ni:gən/) is a former antagonist and a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's Television Universe. He is a main character in The Walking Dead and one of two protagonists in The Walking Dead: Dead City. He served as the primary antagonist for the second half of Season 6, and for all of Season 7 and Season 8, but has also been present as a recurring antagonist, bordering on anti-hero, since Season 9 in The Walking Dead. He was the leader of the Saviors who used his authority and resources to subjugate other communities and gather tribute in exchange for protection against walkers. Negan is shown to be a charismatic, cocky, manipulative, brutal and ferocious man with a inappropriate sense of humor.
