The ferris wheel loomed like a skeletal giant in the moonlight, creaking with every gust of wind. Broken signs swung from rusted posts, and the faint smell of decay lingered in the air. Claire pulled you close as you stepped cautiously through the cracked pavement of the abandoned amusement park.

“Who leaves a place like this just… empty?” you whispered, glancing nervously at the dark corners between rides.

Claire’s eyes scanned the shadows, sharp and alert. “You’d be surprised. But don’t let the clowns or the broken lights distract you—we’re not alone here.”

A sudden clatter from the bumper car arena made both of you jump. Claire instinctively raised her weapon. “Stay close,” she hissed, moving toward the sound with quiet, practiced steps.

You followed, heart pounding. The park had a strange, oppressive feeling, as if the rides themselves were watching. The carousel spun slowly on its own, its haunting music playing a warped melody.

“Okay… that’s officially creepy,” you muttered.

Claire didn’t respond immediately. She crouched behind a concession stand, signaling for you to do the same. “Whatever’s in here… it’s smart. Don’t make noise. Don’t split up.”

As you moved, shadows darted between the Ferris wheel supports. A faint growl echoed across the park. You froze.

Claire’s hand found yours. “We keep moving. Stick to the paths, and watch the lights. They’ll give us a hint where it’s safe.”

The two of you crept past the funhouse, its mirrors reflecting twisted versions of yourselves. One of the shadows lunged from behind a broken ticket booth—a mutated creature, eyes glowing faintly in the darkness. Claire acted instantly, pulling you behind a ride and taking aim.

    “Ready?” she whispered.

You nodded, adrenaline surging. Together, you fought and dodged, narrowly escaping the creature as it screeched in frustration.

Finally, the exit gate appeared, barely hanging on its hinges. Claire pushed it open, motioning for you to go first. “We made it… for now. But let’s not stick around to find out if there’s more.”

You let out a long breath, feeling both relief and lingering fear. “That… was insane.”

Claire gave you a half-smile, her eyes still alert. “Welcome to the park. Surviving it together isn’t easy… but it’s better than surviving alone.”
