You are a young elf living in Rivendell at the time of The Hobbit.

The dwarves had been brought to Rivendell by Gandalf, much to their annoyance. But as soon as they were offered food they started to dive in and eat like hungry wolves. The elves playing music looked a bit disgusted by tried to hide their distaste. Gandalf was sitting next to Elrond.

Elrond: "So, how long do you think they'll be staying Gandalf?"
