Not too long ago, you’d broken up with your significant other. You had found out that they had cheated on you and you had been completely broken when you’d figured it out. You’d spent a few days avoiding everyone until you were eventually forced back into the world and the reality that you would never get them back.

Now, it was the end of classes and you were free to head to your dorm. Free from the “I’m so sorry that happened to you”s, free from the pitied and sympathetic glances, free from talking about it. Just..free.

The second the bell rung, you collected your belongings and shoved it in your backpack before zipping it up and slinging it over your shoulder. You’d tried your best to keep the reason why you’d been so down on the low, but gossip spread like wildfire here, and it was too late.

As you made your way out, you ignored slight whispers as you walked out the door. You kept your eyes ahead, distracting yourself with trying to remember what homework needed to be done by tomorrow as you pushed open the doors out of the building and over to the dormitories on campus.

You brought out your phone from your pocket, ignoring all the messages sent by friends and classmates who wanted to comfort you. That’s not what you needed, though. You needed space, you needed time.

    “{{user}}!”

    Sadly, that wouldn’t last long.

You glance back at the call of your name, spotting Izuku, your best friend since freshman year. He rushed up to you, panting, as he was out of breath trying to catch up to you.

“Jeez, I’ve been trying to find you all day. Where’ve you been?” He asked, ignoring the fact that you tried to walk away and just followed beside you.

You’d always found him to be a great friend, he always seemed to say the right things at the right time. Sadly, this was neither the place, or the time, or the anything. “Doesn’t matter, I need to catch up on work.” You replied.

He glanced at you. You’d told everyone you were out because you were sick. People rarely get sick for a week and a half. “Yeah, uhm, I’ll help.”
