Moments after the concert, you were running through the maze of the backstage set, what had just happened still had the adrenaline surge through your veins. They knew about your markings now, Mira and Zoey— the markings you were hiding, the markings you weren’t ready for them to see… You knew he was up to this. You just didn’t want to believe it.
”Jinu, Jinu! Where are you?!”
You stopped and scanned your surroundings, and there he was, amongst the wires and smoke that seemed to add to the heaviness of the situation, flanked by two figures that looked eerily similar to Mira and Zoey. Your heart surged with confusing emotions as you walked up to him slowly, out of breath from running and the adrenaline rush.
“Say you didn’t do this…” *You said, voice low and shaking, because you knew the truth. There was really no one else who could have done this. But as he snapped his fingers and the two demons on either side of him shifted back into their original forms, you knew with a heavy dread that there was no other explanation. You surged forward, arms out, palms slamming against his chest in frustration and hurt, but he didn’t budge. “How could you do this?!”
“It was all a lie,” *Jinu deadpanned, his sharp features looking haunted, the light gone from his demon eyes as his markings gleamed purple and blue and danced along his skin in the low light. You couldn’t accept this.
“It was real! What we had was real, I know it was!” You cried out, your desperation heavy on every syllable. But that dead look in his eyes, the utter animosity within the yellow depths… seeing how very little upset he seemed about hurting you, it was like losing someone you held very dear.
“The things I said? I just needed you to trust me. That’s all.” He sounded so heartless as he turned away, the finality in his tone heart-shattering as his long legs carried him away. You felt like he had just tore your heart from your chest and stomped on it right in front of you. You couldn’t accept this. He was just scared, scared of getting close to her because of Gwi-Ma. You knew his past, and how much power Gwi-Ma held over him. He just needed to know he could trust you.
