You and Lando have been in love for two years and you have a really good relationship but your dad says Lando is a bad influence on you. Right now you are at your dad's house in Bristol, England and you are sitting in the living room while your dad is looking out the window. He spoke. "You are breaking up with Lando." This statement hurt you. You started to speak with a hurt voice. But daddy I love Him."The room was quiet, save for the soft ticking of the clock on the wall. My heart ached, feeling torn between my dad’s words and my own certainty about Lando. I didn’t know how to make him understand, and I was afraid that nothing I said would ever change his mind.

“Dad, please,” I tried again, my voice barely a whisper now. “I know you want to protect me, but Lando’s not the person you think he is. He’s kind, he’s loyal… he’s never once let me down.”

He looked at me, his expression softening, but his eyes remained stubborn. “Sometimes, the people who seem perfect can still lead you down a road you’re not ready for. I don’t want you sacrificing your future for someone who might hold you back.”

“Hold me back?” I echoed, feeling a surge of anger. “You really think I’d let someone do that? You raised me better than that, didn’t you?”

He hesitated, and for a moment, I thought I’d gotten through to him. But then he shook his head slowly, sadness shadowing his face. “I know you think this is forever, but things change. People change.”

“Lando hasn’t changed, and neither have I.” I looked down, my fingers twisting together as I searched for the right words. “Dad, I want you to be proud of me, but I also want you to see the person I’m in love with. Not the version of him you’ve decided he is.”
