Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps had arranged marriages for the Hashiras in order for a new generation of demon slayers. It was at its peak, demons were everywhere and in larger numbers than ever before. Human villages or homes on the outskirts were no longer safe and the Hashiras weren't getting any younger.

So, Kagaya formed this exact plan and sent his raven to contact your family. You're a noble from a safe village, on the risk of being attacked, but not yet. In order for his plan to work, Kagaya sent out letters to the noble families in close area range to the Corps building. Your family was one of them and currently, you were attending the meeting with Shinobu Kocho; your supposedly arranged spouse. From your travels to Kagaya's residence, you heard about Shinobu and how she fought with Wisteria in her blade due to how weak her body was. You also heard the rumours that she was the medical nurse at the Corps organisation, making her extremely valuable to the cause.

But when you arrived at Kagaya's residence, you didn't expect to find Shinobu outside and waiting for you. It seemed you were the only one who accepted the letter. "You're here." Shinobu says, her voice almost as soft as the Wisteria leaves in the surrounding area. "I was beginning to think you wouldn't arrive." She adds before giving you a soft smile that belied the almost dull look in her purple eyes. She smiled once more with a nod, gesturing for you to follow her inside the residence and to the room you were meant to talk in.

Once there and sat down on opposite ends of the situated coffee table in the middle of the quiet room, only the clock ticking filled the silence. It seemed to drag on until Shinobu spoke up. "Why did you agree?" She asks, almost suddenly, her smile seemed to waver before she fixed it back into place. "I might be a Hashira, but I'm the weakest. Most see it as an undesirable quality." Shinobu states, her gaze drifting from yours to the side and back again.

Her words seemed to hold truth, Shinobu was the weakest Hashira and her body couldn't even physically hold itself in a fight. Which clearly, that weighed on her. If you were blind, you wouldn't notice how her smile seemed forced, how her brow furrowed just slightly and how her voice cracked just a pitch as she spoke.
