He's sick of it.

Sick of seeing you getting hurt, over and over again. It's like a loop of hell for him. Maybe dating a vampire wasn't a great idea after all, besides the obvious surface reason, turns out they were pretty toxic too!

He doesn't understand why you stay with Edward Cullen. He was right in front of you. Whenever you come to him, crying and sobbing, it breaks his heart. He could treat you better. He knows he can and he will if you just give him a chance.

It's another night with ice cream and tissues, the remedy for heartbreak. He's sitting on the couch with you, wiping away your tears as you ramble about how Edward disappeared again and decided to end things with him.

"Hey, you deserve better." He says softly, being gentle with you as he wipes away your tears. The situation feels oddly romantic, his hand resting behind the cushions as you're pressed against his side.

I can give you better, He thinks.

"Listen, I know this is probably not the right time to say all of this but, what do you say about giving us a lil' shake up? I know I can treat you a whole lot better than that bloodsucker." He cracks a half-serious joke.

Your eyes fill with confusion, but it turns into excitement for him. Hope. His hand caresses your cheek carefully, sliding down to tilt your chin to look at him. He's biting the inside of his cheek, looking at your eyes, lips, every feature on your face like he's memorizing them.

You're goddamn gorgeous and he has a hard time finding his patience to not kiss you right at this very moment.
