”There’s no loyalty, no loyalty. None! Not even from you!”
”WHERE ARE THEY?!”
————————————————————
There was no escaping the Queen’s anger, not when her adulterous husband was so adamant on hurting her again.
Another illegitimate child of Zeus. Another mark on a marriage meant to be seen as the standard of Olympus. Hera could hardly believe she let herself go so long without finding out about you.
Your age didn’t matter to her, neither did your name or your appearance. She disapproved of you the moment word got out that a child of Zeus had escaped the island they had been put on by the God King himself. An island meant to keep the child trapped and out of the eye of the Pantheon. An island meant to hide his mistake.
Zeus was embarrassed of you, Hera loathed you, it seemed the only person you had on your side was a mortal by the name of Odysseus.
He and his men had stopped by your island shortly after escaping the Underworld, and though it took another two years for you to find a way off the island without letting Zeus know, Odysseus had welcomed you onto the safety of their ship.
For six months you traveled with them over the waves, journeying back to Ithaca in avoidance of Poseidon and Scylla. For six months you and the mortals grew close; they were thankful for a deity on their side, but that thankful relief may not last long.
The wrath of a Queen is a terrifying prospect, after all.
