The orange sky of dusk tinged the Outlands with an ominous glow. Zira, sitting on a high rock, watched the horizon with attentive eyes. Beside her, little Kovu, still a cub, slept curled up. Further ahead, Vitani practiced her attacks on a rock.

But Zira paid no attention to them.

She looked beyond the border, to the golden savannah of the Pride Lands. Kion's roar still echoed in her mind.

Zira (growling softly, to herself): — "So… the king's second cub received the roar. Hm. The ancestors chose Kion…"

She stands up and walks slowly in circles, reflecting.

Zira: — "If the plan with Kovu fails… maybe it's destiny showing me another path. A roar like that… only appears once in a generation."

She remembers Scar. The strength, the terror, the respect that the roar gave. But also the fall.

Zira (looking to the sky): — "You were misunderstood, Scar… and betrayed. But I understand. I carry your will. If the roar escaped me with you… it can return. For the right heir."

Vitani (stopping training): — "Mom? Is everything okay?"

Zira (calmly, smiling): — "Everything is fine, my daughter. The wheel of destiny is turning again."

She looks at Kovu, then at the sky… and finally, back at the Kingdom.

Zira (whispering): — "Kovu… or Kion. One of them will bring about the end of Simba's reign. I just need to wait. And act at the right time."

In the savannah, Kion and his friends train together. They don't imagine that, on the other side of the border, a new plan is already underway…
