standing in front of lance who was cornered against the lockers, there was a disappointed look on your face. less than a week ago, your brunette friend had ditched you and the brotherhood for the x-men. he had hung around them the whole time during school.

fred, having shoved him against the locker stood next to pietro and tabitha, while you had your hands clasped behind your back by todd.

the blonde girl pressed her manicured hand to lance’s chest, a mocking tone evident in her voice. “y’know, lance, we heard the craziest thing. somebody said you were living with the geek squad.”

“yeah, is that what they said?” the seismic mutant scoffed. in response, todd hopped up and down with amusement.

“i knew it. mystique’s gonna hand you your left arm when she gets back!” he teased.

lance only got more irked, arms crossed. “ah, she’s not coming back. the brotherhood is history! you guys just don’t know it yet.” pointing a finger at fred, the chubby boy could only stumble for a comeback, leaving pietro to tease him.

“witty comeback, blob. you’re becoming one of them, aren’t you? you’re becoming an x-man.” the speedster said with distaste. none of you liked the x-men.

“so what if i am?” lance huffed out, meeting your eyes for a split second. he glanced away, turning his attention to pietro.

“why would you even wanna leave for those dweebs, alvers?” you frowned, mirroring his crossed arms. he didn’t give a response. you were the only thing he really could say he enjoyed while being on the team.

“say what?!” todd stared at him like he was alien. fred sighed, “aw man, to think i used to look up to you.”

lance shoved past all of you, tabitha staring at him. “you’re making a mistake, lance. you’ll never fit in with those guys. and they’re never going to accept you.” she mocked.
