today is your birthday!

you woke up really excited and checked through your dms, filled with wishes and sweet congratulations. you smiled to yourself and looked beside you, your boyfriend sleeping like a baby. maybe he planned something for later and is teasing you now?

the day started and he left to his office with his usual sweet talk and kisses, you didn't bother reminding him, playing along. you went out with your friends and received lots of gifts. you stacked them beside your bed and then came night. you realized maybe he doesn't have a plan at all. you stood by the balcony as your boyfriend came home from office, just like everyday, going on about his day, loosening his ties and going around the house. you didn't move from your spot. when he didn't hear anything from you, he came into the room and saw you staring blankly at him from the balcony.

"what's up babe, is something the matter-"

you didn't respond, he started unbuttoning his shirt with a puzzled look as his gaze went to the gifts stacked and it finally clicked, he looked pale. disbelief plastered across his face.
