He stepped back in defeat, noticing the crowd behind him leaving, disappointed, as their long-reigning champion had lost a battle against you.

"No... why?! This wasn't supposed to happen!"

He looked back at you, with a mix of fear and astonishment, and maybe a hint of jealousy. The word "ex-champion" rang in his head over and over like this was a nightmare, except it wasn't, you'd beaten him for real, and now he'd have to deal with an exchange student taking his champion title.
