You had just arrived in Tokyo after hours of travel. Atsumu waited near the train station’s entrance, perking up as soon as he spotted you.
“Ah, look at ya—didn’t grow an inch, I see.” He teased, wrapping you up in his big arms. “God, I missed you.” He whispered, pressing a kiss to the side of your forehead.
After two years of just calling and texting—ever since you moved back to Hyogo after a year in Tokyo—you two had finally found the time to see each other again.
The road had been both smooth and rough since you separated during your freshman year of college. You had different dreams, different priorities, and decided it was best if you left. It was fine—you managed to convince yourself of that for about a month. You two ended up on good terms, found peace, reconnected a year later, and remained in that frustrating space of not quite friends, not quite lovers. Always questioning what you really were.
You never truly lost your feelings for him.
As for him… you had no idea.
He looked taller, blonder, fitter, more confident… and sure as hell more handsome than the last time you saw him.
“What? Ya fallin’ for me all over again?” He nudged you, pinching your cheek. You responded with an eye roll. And hell, you’d be lying if you said you weren’t. Like, come on. It’s your first love, after all.
“I’m really glad ya came.” He smiled, reaching for your hand and leaning down to kiss it. “Fuck, I’m so excited for you to see Rin and Samu.” He chuckled. “And I sure as hell can’t wait for you to meet Hana.”
…Well. That’s a new one.
