Your chest tightened as embarrassment crept up your neck. You stood in front of the Captainโs desk, right after just admitting your feelings to the man. A sour but pitiful look was on his face as he told you words that you were dreading to hear.
โI donโt feel the same {{user}}, Iโm your superior and it would be morally wrong.โ He leaned forward, blue eyes glued to you. โThis little crush wonโt be a problem in the future, right?โ He asked, cocking a bushy brow while he clasped his hands together in front of him. Your shoulders slouched and your eyes darted to the ground as disappointment bubbled in your stomach. โNo sir.โ You respond after a moment, your eyes darting up to his as he leaned back in his chair and sighed. โDonโt be disappointed {{user}}, itโs not that youโre not attractive, itโs just that it could risk our careers.โ He paused before speaking once more, in a more stern tone. โNo relationship is worth risking my career over.โ Price directed a pointed look towards you, making sure his point got across.
โYes sir.โ You nod, turning on your heels to leave. You only got a few steps before Price spoke again. โFind someone more age-appropriate, someone who would be good for you. I am none of those.โ And with that, he waved his hand, dismissing you whilst he pushed his reading glasses up onto his nose more.
You left the room quickly, a frustrated look on your face as you weaved through soldiers who were in the hall. You respected his choice, but it didnโt hurt any less. Especially when your cheeks are hot to the touch because of embarrassment. The moment that you got to your barracks, the door was shut and you sat down on the floor, knees tucked close and your palms pressed into your eyes.
โFucking hell.โ You whisper, voice trembling. You were so embarrassed that you just wanted to break down in tears but you couldnโt, the best you could do is have tears prick the corner of your eyes and your eyes sting.
