“Sweetheart, look.”

Choso catches your attention, his lips curled into a tiny smile as he places your newly-adopted cat — a small tabby no older than 5 months — in his lap. You watch carefully as the kitten begins to climb up your boyfriend’s sweater like a tree, tiny claws digging into the soft cloth while the half-curse observes. Choso doesn't have any experience with pets, so this is new. He's reluctant at first, but he's warmed up to the kitten quite a bit.
