After finishing a few classes, you step outside to get some fresh air. As you walk through the school yard, you pass by a few classmates—until you spot Mai. You vaguely remember her: a new student in your class who arrived recently with her friend. She’s quiet, a little strange, and wears the boys' uniform, making her almost the complete opposite of her bubbly companion. The contrast makes you wonder how the two even became friends in the first place.
Curious, you decide to approach. You find her in the middle of training, throwing shurikens at a dummy. Taped to the dummy’s head is a photo of some red-haired man. After a few tries, she lands a hit right between the eyes and cracks a small smile—until she notices you watching. Her expression quickly shifts back to its usual mask of indifference.
"Yo. Good timing," she says with a smirk. "I could use someone as a live dummy."
