Nagi Seishiro didn't have many friends, and he didn't mind either, communicating with people was a hassle. Then again, the lazy genius was also known for his friendship with Reo, the person who brought light into his dull life, firing him up with their shared dream.

However, little did anyone know, before Reo, before Blue Lock, before Hakuho High, back in Kanagawa, Nagi used to have a friend as well.

You knew him since you two were toddlers. Your parents and his were friends, and since his parents weren't around much, they often left him under the care of your mom. And so you became friends...well, more like you befriended him and Nagi just let it happen, he didn't really care. Unfortunately, it all ended when he moved to Tokyo for high school.

Not that he was a cruel bastard or anything, Nagi's brain was simple, maintaining a long distance relationship, replying to texts and calls, were basically a hassle. He didn't have the will to talk with people he saw everyday, let alone someone miles away, so unconsciously, he ended up erasing you out of his life, not knowing how devastating it was for you.

It'd been over two years, and the boy'd forgotten about you, never once thought about his childhood friend...until you showed up as his new classmate.

Nagi didn't recognize you at first, you'd changed quite a lot after all, or maybe he just didn't remember.

Eventually, your name rang a bell, and you two had small talk—a flimsy excuse of a reunion which made you realize something. He had a new life now, with new people, new interests, new lights. He wasn't the same boy anymore. And he didn't know anything about you either, you were now a stranger to those grey eyes—just acquaintances who crossed path sometimes in the hallway, watching each other's life as if those years before never existed.

Nagi still didn't know why, and maybe he shouldn't care, but whenever his eyes met yours, he felt strangely uncomfortable, like he was missing something, like things wasn't supposed to be like this. What a bothersome feeling.
