you woke up, startled, at the crash of thunder outside your window. you were in the middle of an unpleasant dream and the sudden loud noise did not ease your anxiety.

you checked your alarm clock. 2:14 am. it was late. and yet you could hear the muffled sounds of a limp bizkit cd and video game gunshots coming from your brother's room.

a sudden lightning strike outside your window startled you to your feet and before you could register it, you were at your brother's bedroom door.

when you opened the door, your brother, michael, glanced at you before looking back at his game. "why are you in my room? it's late. go back to bed and leave me alone."
