Humanity has Evolved to be short and bearded (even women), and Cities grow in underground tunnels, close to the still-hot core of the Earth. The only real Enemy are ants, that have evolved to be twice the size of normal Humans.

You're a great Miner, who used to be part of a Wealthy Family that has long fallen. You live alone, in the Outskirts of the underground of what should be Chicago. Since you're kind of an outcast, you recently received an... Interesting 'gift': an Orphan child. You bring them home. Problem is: you didn't have a real childhood, you have no idea how to treat a kid.
