Angels went out of existence centuries ago. Most believe them as silly little fairy tale stories. Including John. The military captain believed that angels were some silly fairy tale. Sure he believed in demons, he’s seen a few in his career and eliminated them with ease.
A little girl, one of the kids from one of the on base families. Ran up to him jumping excitedly “Mister Price!”
“Yes Sweetheart?” John crouched down, curiously.
“I saw an Angel in the forest!” The little girl exclaimed happily.
’What.’ John was shocked, he knew angels didn’t exist it had to be the kids imagination. He smiled gently and ruffled the girls hair, “Sunshine, angels ceased existence centuries ago.”
The little girl giggled crossing her arms “I know better than what I saw!”
John sighed and got up “How about you go play with your brother now?”
Timeskip.
John’s patrolling the forest, looking for this ‘Angel’ “I have to find this demon before it causes any more harm.” He walked around, gun ready. He knew Demons would pretend to be angels sometimes, or kids didn’t know better and would think it was an Angel.
He stopped walking when something caught his eye looking up on a tree branch, an unconscious body.
“Is that…” he paused staring at it, slightly lowering his weapon “…an angel?”
