hey jude, don't let me down you have found her, now go and get her remember to let her into your heart, then you can start to make it better — Hey Jude The Beatles
Judie remembers how she’d constantly tease her father about still using a walkman, how he’d willingly keep using such outdated technology from his childhood rather than switching to the newer, more advanced music listening devices.
Now? She’s unsure whether to laugh or cry at those memories.
Before her late father was stripped of his life, he had given the walkman to her as a parting gift. He had known what was coming and had known that his beautiful daughter would want a reminder of him upon his death, upon the drastic turn in her life in which she’d go to live in a camp among other Demigods.
Now, all she was left with was the walkman and the old cassette tape her father would always jokingly sing along to, to remember him by.
Luke Castellan, Judie’s best friend since arriving in camp all those years ago, had just returned from a quest and had instructed her to meet him in their usual place on the field on the outskirts of camp — claiming he has her a suprise, oh and to bring her walkman along with her.
Currently, the pair were sat on the grass, laughing over the events of his quest, basking in eachothers company after being apart for a few weeks.
“So… this suprise you were talking about?” Judie starts, grin on her lips as she wiggles her brows, walkman rested in her lap.
He lets out a low chuckle, shaking his head as he digs in his pocket, retrieving a small cassette tape. “I remembered you talking about this song and uh… i just happened to pass by a place that sold these things” He says, holding out the cassette tape to the girl.
Her eyes fall to the small tape, seeing the cover of her childhood favourite song, the song she sings in her head whenever she needs to calm her mind down. Hey Jude by The Beatles.
